Discover the 5 ways to increase your level of endurance and resilience

Increasing our level of endurance and resilience every day can help us cope adaptively and bounce back after changes, challenges, setbacks, disappointments, and failures.

Resilience is the process of being able to adapt well and bounce back quickly in times of stress. This stress may manifest as family or relationship problems, serious health problems, problems in the workplace, or financial problems, just to name a few.

While some people have a seemingly natural capacity to bounce back from adversity, others do not. But resilience can be learned and increased.

Once mastered, resilience will serve you well throughout your life. You can always draw upon your past experiences where you showed resilience and use that strength to manage and overcome difficult times.

Resilience makes you stronger, and with each challenge that you encounter, you develop new skills and ways of dealing with life and build further on your strengths..

Here are some ways to help you increase and strengthen your resilience:

βœ… Embrace change. All of us will be challenged many times in life by obstacles, both from within and without.  Accepting and even anticipating change makes it easier to adapt and view new challenges with less anxiety. 

If we believe that we have the capability to be resilient and that these challenges will be met with determination and confidence, we can move through change with much more ease.

βœ… Acknowledge yourself. Take an inventory of yourself, what you fear, and what your weaknesses are, fully acknowledge your strengths and accomplishments. This is who you are and you have stood through difficulties and challenges. Believe that you can increase your ability to rise, deal, and resolve any conflicts and crises from a place of strength.

βœ… Make every day meaningful.  Do something that gives you a sense of accomplishment and purpose every day. Set goals to help you look toward the future with meaning.

βœ… Develop strong personal connections.  Building strong, positive relationships with loved ones and friends can provide you with needed support and acceptance in good and bad times. People who are your supporters and advocates, people who cheerlead for you, help raise you up, give you reassurance and strength, help you increase your resilience, especially during rough times. People in this awesome community we have created!!!

βœ…Take care of yourself. Taking care of your body and mind keeps you strong and better able to handle difficult times and challenges. Get plenty of sleep. Eat a healthy diet. Be well hydrated, drink good clean water. Practice stress management and relaxation techniques, such as yoga, meditation, guided imagery, deep breathing, or active prayer.

These exercises will help you to effectively deal with difficult circumstances and help you improve and increase the level of your resilience and endurance.
